GPU Temp

Postby OzPapaSmurf » Sat Feb 08, 2014 12:54 pm

Hi there, I have taken to FAH again after a short hiatus.
I installed the 7.36 version tonight and set it up. It is running
CPU and GPU now but the GPU temp is sitting @ 78celsius, is this
a bad thing or normal? I have never had any GPU this hot.

The GPU is a GTX660Ti and the CPU is i7 2600K O/C to 3.4ghz.
Any help would be appreciated. :)

According to the Nvidia specifications, the maximum temperature of GTX 660 Ti is 97 degrees Celsius (http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop ... ifications). My GTX 660 Ti (manual OC) runs at a maximum of 73 degrees Celsius (FahCore_17 WU) with a custom fan curve.

78C is fine, just keep an eye on temps as dust builds up and room temperatures increase (if you are in Winter right now). I prefer staying below 80C on all components if possible. On many of my GPU folders I do not think that the Auto fan is aggressive enough. In both Linux and Windows you can manually set the fan to a higher level to facilitate cooling.

Me too, on Linux I set the fan manually between 60% and 70% and keep my cards not much higher then 70 Celsius. In summer i might have to push the fan even higher.

Thanks fellas. I am ok with the temps now that you have reassured me. :)

I do have a HUGE cooler on my CPU so I guess the 78-79c for the GPU is not too bad. :)
