Trying to get work from 129.74.85.15 unsuccessfully. Checked the server log, but for me that's like looking under the hood of a sports car--looks pretty cool, but what does it all really mean...?

That said, "%Ass" was shaded blue and contained the numeral "3." Best as I can decipher, that's not good, but I'm not sure what it really means.

Server 129.74.85.15 looks to be a Collection server only. The server status says "accept" instead of "full", meaning it will only accept completed WUs sent to it, not hand out WUs itself.

Occationally I have been redirected to that server up to 7 times in a row getting a new WU, before finally being assigned to a server that is actually handing out WUs. (After 7 times I stopped my client, and temp removed the -advmethods tag).

Though this is a different problem (?) than the topic starter meant.

No, 85.15 is a work server for classic clients and it is currently in full (operational) stats and has over 159K WUs available. However, 85.15 has a net load currently of 161. While this is not extremely high, it might cause some intermittent problems.

Tobit, if I check the server log for 129.74.85.15 I only see "accept", never "full"; and just recently "standby" a few times.

On topic, just got the same problem as the topic starter, my WU is not being sent successfully:

There are two columns that sometimes cause confusion. A server that has connect set to Accepting is functioning. A server that has status set to Accept is not supposed to be issuing new assignments. It's really strange to see that it still seems to be sending out about 5% of the WU assignments.

None of that explains why you can't upload to that server, because a server that has status set to EITHER Accept or Full should be allowing uploads. The Net Load is a likely suspect.

My laptop is trying to download from .15. I'm basically out of work (not folding) until it comes back up. (You would think it would try another server if the first one is down. :? )

I still get nothing with IE - times out, and it's up to 77 failed uploads. Maybe someone can check that the RJ11 is pushed all the way in?

Looks like the WS got overloaded with connections (~900K). I'm not quite sure how this happened. Could be a software error, network failure or a DOS attack. It's really hard to tell. We'll keep an eye on it and I'll try to get in there and diagnose the problem while it's failing if it happens. Feel free to PM me if it occurs again.

After my problems with trying to return a Protomol WU (project 10044 (Run 341, Clone 0, Gen 24)), it seems to have been deleted or disappeared into the ether somewhere.
At attempt number quadrillion it connects (hurrah!) but ...
[20:15:43] - Server reports problem with unit.
[20:15:43] + Sent 0 of 1 completed units to the server

Ok, but since the next WU is finished, it uploads the result but then says ...
[20:58:28] + No unsent completed units remaining

Code: Select all

Can a kind Mod see if it's been returned or if it's been lost en route to the server? Thanks!

That was project 6502 WU, I'm checking on project 10044 WU which was completed before that one.
