WinXP 64bit - any advantage ?

I've recently started running a 64bit Linux distro on a machine I only use for folding, to use SMP.
Sometimes I run Windows XP on it as well though, would there be any advantage in using Xp64bit?
I read somewhere (here probably) that it wasn't the 64bit-ness that gave the advantage, but some extra registers in a 64 bit architecture. Would this also apply to Windows ?

For folding (with the exception of bigadv WU's) there is no real advantage to 64 bit folding. The main advantage to 64 bit is in the size of the address space and folding just doesn't use that much RAM. There are extra registers and the registers get bigger but really the only benefit that has is if you need to store more local data or bigger integers and neither appears necessary.

In linux, the v6 SMP runs on 64 bit ONLY. You NEED 64 bit OS to fold in Linux.

But as P5 said, there is no performance advantage. FAH uses 64 bit only because the SMP fahcore originally only worked on 64 bit OS. And now that everything is 64 bit, there's no need to spend development time making a 32 bit fahcore.
