I've also noticed this as well. None of the posts I read yesterday show that I visited them. Not a big deal, but still odd.

That may be a different issue. The mobile version of the forum acted very strange yesterday. Clicking on the new post link did not take me to the newest unread post. However, it is back to normal today. WE

Mobile is messed up again for me. Unread takes me to the top of the right page but not the right post.

Not sure what's causing the wonkiness. I tried changing another setting to fix the new posts issue but that didn't help apparently. I don't know what is causing the issue as I trialled a fresh install of the latest version of the forum software and the same issue still exists. I cannot see what is causing it, and the phpbb devs don't know either.

The non-mobile version is wonky, too. Several times in the last few days, I have read every post with the unread (orange) flag. Then they get turned on again. Has the responsibility for that been moved? Is it related to when I logout or when my session times out?

I do move from one computer to another so if it's only data kept now in local cookies, that's a major change and I don't like it. It used to reinitialize the most recent read/unread status plus newer posts and that's no longer working.

Also, it used to generate the orange flags on the Index page from the presence of unread topics/posts. Now if I use "View unread" to visit every unread post and THEN I go back to the index, the topics are still flagged as unread even though I've visited several threads in that topic.

It is still "Wonky". Today, for me, it reset all threads that someone posted into after 11/22 to having never been read. It is annoying having to go to the end each of those threads, that I've read before, to make the forum think I've read them.

After all orange flags were turned off and I had logged out, a number of orange flags were turned back on from a day or two ago. I think I've seen this 3 or 4 times, and only withing the past month or so.

I've had similar problems recently. I deleted all board cookies by clicking the link at the bottom of the page, then checked my browser (Opera) to make sure that all foldingforum.org cookies were gone. Don't know if that had anything to do with it, but now the problem appears to be gone. Knock on wood...

Are there any plans on fixing the "View new posts (3953)" bug? This was discussed back in August on page 2 and 3 of this thread.

No. As noted, waiting on a fix from phpbb devs. http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?p=230125#p230125

Mobile version. Topics with new posts are red but opening one doesn't move down to the first new post.
Also, there's a "new post" button which does not skip to a new post.

This is worsened by the lack of a visual indication of which posts are new.

At one point in time, one could just log out of foldingforum.org and the new post counter would reset. But at some point in time in the last few weeks that stopped working, so now it just keeps counting upwards.

I just logged out and in and my new post count was reset. Did this happen to be when it prompted you for your login if you'd stayed logged in for a few weeks straight, but where you hadn't deliberately logged out? I've noticed that in that case the new post count is not reset.

They were deliberate logouts. I usually do it when the new post count gets to around 2 or 3 hundred.

FYI

I noticed a link in a post that didn't work properly:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anton_(computer)

Notice the closing bracket isn't considered to be part of the link by the forum software.

Using the exact same link between url tags:

Code: Select all

[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anton_(computer)]Anton (computer)[/url]
Anton (computer)

does work.

Also, replacing the brackets with %28 and %29 respectively works:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anton_%28computer%29
