No description for project 7812

Post by BigBill1040 »

I went to view project 7812 and there was no description for it. Could you please provide a description.

The rest of the network is shut down for the off season. I need to justify the high CPU usage, otherwise we have to stop folding.

It doesn't appear in the project list, but a hunt through the beta forum indicated that it's a continuation of of an older project for either P8055 or P8056, not sure which. The descriptions are in the announcement for those two.

Here's the link to the announcement in the beta forum:

(Mods- hope I'm not breaking any rules with a link into that forum?)

It is not a problem, the beta forums can be read by all. You are just being helpful.

Neither 8055 nor 8056 have descriptions, However, I followed your link and was informed it was a Streptococcus protein used to purify antibiotics.

Our office is only open by appointment during off season. An old laptop we use as a mail server is being used to participate in the folding at hope project. You can imagine my surprise when I received a call on my personal cell phone Memorial Day asking why our mail server was so active.

We upgraded our internet security after the Java exploit was exposed. We have associates with early Parkinson's disease. We are happy to participate, I can't justify no project descriptions.

We have a board meeting the second Tuesday of next month where I would like to provide to the board:

1. Procedures this folding@home follows to approve projects,

2. Description for project 7812.

Thank you.

I've asked our team to see who missed the description and get that up ASAP.

Regarding approving projects, FAH projects are funded by NIH and therefore go through NIH peer review.
