NVIDIA Quadro M520

Post by <NO_NAME> »

Is there any chance to add NVIDIA Quadro M520 to the list?

Here is output of "FAHClient.exe --lspci":

I've added it reluctantly. As a general rule, mobile chips have rather limited processing capabilities and people using them often come back and complain that their hardware is too weak to run FAH or that it produces too much heat.

In any case, please report back.

Well, yes. It appears to be quite slow. It needs over 1 day to finish a single WU. Although, this WU has over 11,000 Base Credits so I guess it is quite big. In contrast, WU on my CPU has 360 Base Credits and it needs about 10 hours to complete. If I read it correctly, my GPU is much more efficient than my CPU.

Sadly, you wasn't right about the heat. It produces some but not nearly enough.
Honestly, I remembered that Folding@Home exists only because it is rather cold in my office and I was looking for some way to heat it up. FAH helps but only a little. :D

Well, with a TDP of 25 W, that heat output is significant in a laptop with limits on how much heat it can disperse. Less significant when you are talking about a room. There a desktop GPU putting out 150-200 W starts making a difference.
