Everyone wants to help, which is fine, but I am almost amused that they think they need to tell FAH to make a priority of it.
It is more or less the same thing in Rosetta, the only other project I know that has anything on it.
If battling the Coronavirus is your priority, you should run F@H with your GPU and run Rosetta with your CPU. unfortunately my GPU is not supported by FAH

They're coming ! CORONAVIRUS PROJECTS coming to BETA

This is still beta, but I guess it won't last very long.

Any chance that there will be CPU WU available for this as well?

I understand there is discussion about doing that. Given the disparity in processing speed between CPU and GPU WU's, they probably need to sift through the possible areas of investigation to identify suitable ones for CPU based projects.

It looks like we're setting up to do drug screening for the viral protease on CPUs -- stay tuned!

As the weather warms I shut my folders down on March 1st. I usually fold in the colder months and shut them down when it gets too hot. I'm about to rethink things and fire them back up to help the cause.

Looks like I got some of the virus projects now. my adv control is showing PRCG 11745 and 11742.
is it out in the wild? if it is, I want to start posting on twitter to get more people to download F@H.

If I'm correct, there is new Corona work being prepared for CPU folders like myself:

Yes, CPU-based jobs are coming ASAP. GPU-based projects are up and running.

that's funny that people are coming out of the woodwork to fold for THIS particular virus. folding at home has more serious projects that affect more people than this virus that will come and go. people should be running folding at home for ALL the available projects, NOT just one. this is for the good of humanity. please share our success!

Given the urgency and global impact, isn't that effort warranted?

Frankly, not being able to focus cycles on coronavirus would dissuade me from running it. I'm very new here, and am posting a thread shortly with questions regarding corporate participation in this effort. Being able to focus on coronavirus is a must.
F@h has limited developer resources.
How big is it? I'm software engineer. You can hire me for a $1. I have some free time currently. !Being able to focus on coronavirus is a must. Plenty of people don't want to crunch PROBABLY CoV, they want to focus on enemy #1 and fight against him and only.

This person obviously isn't Folding@Home because if they were they would see the client doesn't allow people to choose the projects, only the project type. The project priority is set by the researchers and they have placed the 2019-nCoV project at the top of the list. Those of us folding know that.
