Viewer not working

So uh. yeah. Im actually involved with a process right now. Screenshots below. But I right-click on the device that F@H is using on my computer (ie: CPU) And click View, and it just says Demo, and doesn't tell me my name, my team, the project, or any statistical information. Any Idea on why? Here is my log.

Known issue with using the viewer on Windows, it broke in the latest revision of the client.

How absolutely dreadful, I was most excited about the Viewer. Are we doing to expect a software update for this? Is there a a previous version we can downgrade to that will still function?

Some have reported success with using the 7.4.4 version of FAHViewer. From their posts it can be a bit complicated to get installed and keep the rest of 7.5.1.

I successfully used the 7.4.4 FAHViewer with 7.5.1, but with mixed success. It does connect, and it sees the Work Unit I am processing, however the model is messed up. I don't really know how to explain what it looks like super well, but it is essentially buried in thousands of purple circles that are in a cube formation. Are we allowed to post links? I am new here...if yes, here is a picture for reference. If not, I apologize and I will remove it if you ask.

The link to a picture is fine.

There are some options in the viewer to change the type of view, clicking on the life preserver icon will display them. What the picture shows is a very large protein in its bounding box, due to the large number of atoms a lot of detail is obscured. The viewer is a bit more useful when it is showing a smaller protein system, then you can see more of the detail.

All proteins are folded in box of solvent ... typically that's Water. The polar properties of H2O molecules have a significant effect on the atoms in the protein. :eugeek: Reference: "bag of mostly water" :P

The viewer is supposed to make the water transparent but I think the purple is, in fact, the solvent.

Posting here so that more people can see this solution i found on reddit:

Do not install this package but open it using a ZIP program like https://www.7-zip.org/ and only extract the FAHViewer.exe to your current FAHclient 7.5.1 installation folder.

I also had to copy the "freetype6.dll" file (same location as FAHViewer.exe in the 7.4.4 installer).

Viewer also consumes PC resources, so its nice to see it, but try to avoid that for maximizing the performance of machine.
