Coreweave donated 6000 gou's to the so they should be doing 16-18k WU a day, they did 4.4k yesterday so even they are suffering

You do realize that the default team has multiplied significantly in number of machines? I.e. the number of WUs per machines is much lower for everyone, but the distribution of everyone has shifted more towards the default team, as a lot of people likely don't care to enter neither a name, passkey nor team, as is evident by the rise of Anonymous.

As for the "CoreWeave" team they are indeed a company:
CoreWeave provides GPU accelerated compute solutions to the CGI and Machine Learning industries. Backed by world-class hardware and systems management infrastructure, CoreWeave is built to help you scale and adapt to your rapidly evolving compute requirements at industry leading economics.
...i.e, again, they definitely have few WUs per machine, they just have a ton of machines ;)

A rather intriguing observation I’ve made is that my computer, a heavy build, continues to get CPU units as opposed to GPU. My mom’s computer, a light build, has been more consistently getting both.

"If we now have twice the number of folders working as we had a week ago"

Try more like 100 times as many as a ballpark guess, and 1000 times as many would not shock me.

One team ALONE (PC Master Race) has added almost 18,000 (yes, Eighteen THOUSAND) new folders in the past week, and there is no way to count how many new "anonymous by the default installation" folders have been added to the default "team" (my guess is "hundreds of thousands, possibly a MILLION").

Coreweave is a major render farm company, their "farm" has over 45,000 Tesla V100 but they're "only" contributing 6000 or so to the FAH effort.
