transfer points to a team - Multiple computers

Post by KA1J »

Hi,

With the Covid I added F@H to several computers, I also have BOINC, running Rosetta on each which is now also addressing Covid. With F@H being new to me I joined no team and was defaulted to team 0.

I found a team I want to join and entered the team # in the web control. It appears the points were not transferred to the team, it says 0 points go to the team from the over 2 million points, though it does show the team name, so the info was registered. I went to a different computer and looked at the web control and it does not show the team and suggests I join a team. With this, it appears each computer is separate and I have to enter the team in each. As the points earned shows equally on each computer, I expected to see a global change in the team I joined as well.

Am I correct then, that the existing 2176146 points will not be transferred to the team I have decided to join?

And, that while points are centrally assessed, there is no central control, changing all the computers under my one KA1J ID to this chosen team, and each computer will have to be changed manually?

Thanks.

Points remain with the username/team pairing they were earned with … new points will go to you new team … past points will remain as they are.

I believe each instance of FAH will need the team details updating … If you are using Advanced control to monitor all the instances from one machine it may be possible - someone else may be able to confirm/help with that.

Sorry, it was decided very early in this project that moving teams would not move historic points. It can't be undone. Your work was still scientifically useful though.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't mind waiting to find a group as I thought the points would logically transfer from the default of 0.

Stay safe!

This is correct. Each client installation would need to be updated and it can be done via FAHControl assuming you have already configured it for remote setup.
