I have to "sudo rmmod amdgpu" then "sudo modprobe amdgpu"

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

… to get "Number of devices" from 0 to 1

Dell XPS 13 7390
Radeon 5700 XT (Node Titan eGPU)
Ubuntu HWE 18.04.4 LTS
amdgpu-pro-20.10 ("./amdgpu-pro-install --headless --opencl=pal")

I have quite a few Ubuntu 18 and Fedora 32 machines folding, some have Nvidia, but I have to date never achieved FAH with a Radeon. Here is one problem I am having. Thanks for any advice.

And whatever clinfo is reporting, the dev package seems to be a must:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install ocl-icd-opencl-dev

Same here.... 3 PC's with 14 Nvidia video cards....
Running like a server on mint Linux. Wanted to try an AMD video card. What a huge mistake. Multiple days not hours spent trying to get opencl and other drivers loaded. My advice to anybody who wants to do folding at home is the stay away from AMD.
