I'd like to use it for folding as it works at about 1/4 the rate of the dGPU on BOINC GPU projects, so I know it has reasonable speed available. Any advice is appreciated.

edit - If this is the wrong subforum, pls move. Wasn't sure in which as there are similar posts for similar setups in here and the New GPU subforum

The iGPU is not being recognised as an acceptable gpu hence the 192.0.2.1 ... it may be an issue with the gpus.txt file but one of the gpu gurus should be able to help

Roger. I checked the device ID and it's in the file but I don't know if that alone will make it work. Even checking the online version of the GPU file vs the one from my install, the line for the device ID is equal in both.

GPUs.txt lists this device as follows:

Code: Select all

0x1002:0x1636:1:3:Renoir [Ryzen 4900HS mobile]
The 4th field marks it as species 3, which is why it is not getting work. I will check with a couple of the people who maintain entries in the file to see if there is a reason it is marked as species 3, or if it is just a typo.

Will report back in just a minute. Hopefully it will join in with the other GPU

edit - is there a way to stop only CPU threads when using excluded apps? Games run fine using other GPU apps(BOINC and mfakto/mfaktc for mersenne primes) but CPU apps kill framerates.

edit 2 - I figured out how to accomplish what I sought via my edited question above. I can just select CPU from fahcontrol and pause just that

tulai when Joe_H says it has been updated at F@H's end, you can delete your GPUs.txt and it will reload from the server. That version should work.

Ok. Still getting bupkis if I switch it on my end to 5 in GPU text file. That's after rebooting to make sure it got loaded

How do you mean? I tried what you suggested by setting it to 5 then reported back and agreed I'd wait til he updated it.

I never ever suggest editing GPUs.txt, it always ends in failure. Now that you have edited it, the only way to get right is to delete it and get a new version, once Joe_H says there is a new version. Until then sit tight and make no more changes we can't recover from.

There is a small team that can make these changes, and they need to agree on them. Give them time.

The file has been updated, not certain if the master copy on the servers has updated as well.

At some point while I was gaming it had downloaded and started working. Even with the Nvidia and AMD GPUs both working I get over 100FPS in WoW. It's estimated ~16 hours for project 11760 fahcore 0x22.

If you need or want any data from my end to see how it's working, let me know.
