Team Points Not Credited

Post by souffle-ole »

I have about 1.2 million points but only about 560,000 are being credited to my team. I have two PCs working under the same user (donor?) name.
Note: Could never get the Passkey working - never got a response.
I setup BOINC and used Univ of Wash (Seattle?) to do work when FAH was not providing work. BOINC has been paused for a long time.
My FAH name is listed under the team roster/stats, but with 1/2 +/- points of my total.

I would like my Team to get full credit. Thanks

As ever, if you posted the first 200 lines of each your PC's log, we would learn much about your set up.

As it is, we don't know your User name, your team number or any other useful information.

That can help us get future point applied where you want them. (What is past is past)

You don't have passkey activated.

You are seeing that many points because there is another person using the same username - souffle. They are contributing to Team #150. They are also using a passkey recently, so only part of their points show up in that 1.2 million. You can see what you total is be doing a search on both your username and team at the same time, if you search by just user it will show all points credited to that name, farther in it will break it down by teams.

Okay. Seems odd to allow 2 users with the same name. As I reported, I could not get the Passkey to complete. I suspect that would have eliminated this issue.
Now I know.

There is no formal registration of usernames, just a checker to see if a name has been used before. Nothing to prevent anyone else from using the name later either if it had not been used before.

Registration was considered years ago, but by then more than a few duplicates names already existed.

As I mentioned, unless someone else on a team duplicates a username, searching for both username and team at the same time should be unique.

They have worked on getting the passkey emailer accepted by a number of email providers who were bouncing them during the rush of new requests for passkeys. If you have not tried getting one recently, resubmit and let us know if it did not come through. Let us know which address was blocking. Or set up an account on gmail or similar free service. Many of those have been contacted.
