Fahcore_22 v0.0.18 updated driver and glibc requirements

Post by toTOW »

Since core 22 v0.0.18 has been compiled with a newer version of CUDA (11.x), make sure that you have the latest nVidia drivers for your GPU installed on your system.

Too old drivers will show these messages in the log :

Code: Select all

12:55:28:WU01:FS01:0x22:Attempting to create CUDA context:
12:55:28:WU01:FS01:0x22: Configuring platform CUDA
12:55:29:WU01:FS01:0x22:Failed to create CUDA context:
12:55:29:WU01:FS01:0x22:Error loading CUDA module: CUDA_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_PTX_VERSION (222)
And then fallback to OpenCL ...

If you experienced the issue, feel free to share your experience in this thread : viewtopic.php?f=74&t=37390

Updated 2021-11-26 :
It is interesting to add that glibc requirements on Linux also changed with v0.0.18 of core 22 :

The latest studio drivers work, too and you don't need every update that fixes problems that only are seen in specific games unless you play that game.

Thanks for the update bruce, I updated the first post.

When I wrote it, Studio drivers were too old.

My issue Tesla K20C after update to FAHcore_22 v0.0.18 form v0.0.16

I get CUDA error "PTX 218" on GPU Driver 441.22 (CUDA 10.2) on Win 8.1 64bit
I upgraded to Win 10. Plus, automatically attached driver 353.30 (CUDA 7.5). And does not CUDA work. be changed to OpenCL work. :|

I have it working on Win 8.1 Pro. You need this exact driver version. 472.12

It's the last version that works with 8.1 (or at least after researching it, I think it is).
