Points not being credited correctly [as expected]

Post by Ilithan »

Hello all,

I’ve only been folding for a bit and recently got a new computer. Used my old passkey and registered a new user. But I’ve noticed that the credited rewards compared to the rewards I should be getting are very low. I’ve finished 12 work units, estimates are normally around 600.000 per work unit but I only get like 100.000. My username is Joeymeesters in the scoreboard.

Any idea why my scores are this low? For information I’ve had a 4090 fold for 16 hours and only have 1.2 million points

Welcome to the folding support forum.

Bonus points are only given after 10 completed WUs have been returned for a username and passkey pair. You also need to maintain an 80% or better return rate before the bonus deadline. So with a new username, the first 10 WUs returned will not get a bonus. The estimated points listed in the log are only based on the presence or absence of a passkey in the client configuration. The client does not have any means of validating the passkey or determining whether the username/passkey pair is qualified for the bonus.

In addition, checking your username it has 26 WU downloads and only 12 returns associated with it. You will have to return about 45 WUs successfully without any failures before this username and passkey pair will be qualified for a bonus.

Hello thanks for your reply,

That's really odd, could it be that some WU failed to submit? I did have a couple cancelled ones because the client tried to use my on board gpu, which i had to stop manually several times. I will have to wait and see then if the situation improves in a few days.

Your system is creating errors and the work units are failing. Credit is given for completed work units, not any failed units.

You might want to do some stability testing of your system, and memory testing as well before doing any more folding.

ETA:. Looking more closely it appears you're integrated graphics is disabled due to lack of opencl or cuda drivers.

From there looks like as if you were forcing 31 threads on the CPU when it's trying to default back to 30. Generally if folding software tries to make a change there is a reason, most likely the large prime number. Set the threads to 30 or lower but avoid prime numbers.

You're 4090 isn't even showing up on this part of the log. Unless you have edited parts of the log you might want to copy and paste the first 100 lines or so of a new log when you try to fold again.
Fold them if you get them!
