Unable enable more than 64 threads for cpu

Post by jarble »

I am trying the beta and I found that there is a limit of 64 threads. In older versions you could spin up more slots to address more threads. As it stands now I cant find a way past this hard cap. Are there any work arounds to this or plans to address more threads?

Most work units have a max threads of 64 in the assignment record.

The client is supposed to keep requesting WUs until all available resources are used.

If that does not work, please report it as a bug.
And a workaround is to create extra resource groups with desired cpu count.
HOWTO: Use FAH v8 Resource Groups for individual slot-like control

I like to run two groups of 8 cpus, rather than one with 16.
PPD is lower, but the WUs tend to not take as long to run.

https://i.imgur.com/w1tjMQG.png The slider only goes to 64 even though I have 192 available. What is the best way to file a bug report on this? I have been out of the game for a few years so I am not up to speed on the best processes.

I will give your workaround a try and see if I can kick the tires a bit more.
