HELP!

Post by andorjkiss »

FAH doesn't seem to work at all. I installed in on Ubuntu 22.04 and the FAHControl GUI keeps flashing from Updating to Connecting. Everything else is greyed out.

Please help, there are no instructions.

There are currently two versions of FAHClient: 7.6.21 & 8.3.5 .... which one did you install?
After installing did you reboot?
If you are using GPU did you go to Software & Updates > Additional Drivers and install the tested drivers?
Check the following thread for hints on how to ask for help:

The Ubuntu SNAP store installs 7.6.21

No, rebooting now.

Using GPU - where is "Software & Updates > Additional Drivers"
The machine has the latest 555 drivers for NVIDIA and CUDA 12.5; installed and runs.

Post your log.txt file from the fah directory .... it should be at /var/lib/fahclient/log.txt use the code tags offered in Full Editor

To get to software & updates > Additional Drivers click on the 9 dot menu .... on my setup it's on the bottom left of the screen

Also, if you didn't tell folding to automatically start then you may have to start the fahclient service manually .... try:

sudo service fahclient start

I can't install the FAHControl DEB; doesn't work with Python3.

Uninstalling. Buggy project. Not recommended.
