I have a collection of windows laptops running 8.3.18. If there is a network dropout the webinterface is gray and nonresponding even after getting the network up and running. I got the folding to start by reinstallning the folding at home app, but it seems to be a crude way to solve it.
On a Mac I can start terminal and view the activity with the "top" command in the terminal but I am less familiar with windows.

You don't need to reinstall after a network glitch.
The client is probably fine, but just hasn't reconnected to the node server yet, which is what allows web control to see remote machines.
For Windows especially, you might want to upgrade to the latest beta.
