Slow eligibility for QRB?

Post by Markyrian »

My user Markyrian_GRC_dd5176f41fdc6b47ea91c86f31399d9e with passkey configured has now crunched 20+ jobs in a few days, but I'm not even listed when I search this user on https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus. How come?

Shouldn't this page list all matching users with True/False under "Bonus Active"? This user quickly entered e.g., the list at https://apps.foldingathome.org/daily_us ... ry.txt.bz2

Is it due to that I'm running only GPU jobs for this user?

Bonus page sometimes is late to cache the user list.
However, once you finish 10+ units successfully, you bonus activates, unless you start failing units left and right

Ok, I don't see any bonus yet. Is it something that is rewarded afterwards (potentially days) and can not be understood from the local WU logs which in my first 20+ jobs just awarded the base credit?

No, once bonus activates you just get more points. It is possible that client you are using calculated bonus points from the beginning even though you were not getting full amount of them.

Everything I check shows no bonus:

https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu

Nothing comes up for Markyrian_GRC_dd5176f41fdc6b47ea91c86f31399d9e on:

https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus

using just Markyrian I see bonus status is correct.

https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu

Shows your most recent return so that suggests your name is working but 0 for bonus

Please check your configuration to see if your passkey is entered correctly. i.e. no space before or after

Thanks @bollix47, this confirms what I saw as well.

The web client page (8.4.9) indeed confirmed the passkey configured (retrieved from https://apps.foldingathome.org/getpasskey). At least it did swallow the key from the webmail service and let me save at the time.

I did mess up somewhat after installation the other day and entered a key not retrieved from the web at first. But changed it after a few hours.

Since I liked the old-style client better I've now falled back to ver. 7. The install went fine and it is configured with the same user and passkey.
Judging from https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus page this user/passkey pair did promptly now register but Bonus Active is False and WUs finished is just 2 atm. This is evidence that the 8.4.9 web configuration client I ran failed at updating something related to the configured passkey I think and that I'm now starting from scratch on the 10-WU run...

This Bonus Status page seems hence to only enumerate users with registered passkeys. It would be good to also show also the matching user without a passkey and indicate False under a new column "Passkey registered" together with the number of WUs Finished. Yes, I'm aware that this passkey-less user could be many unique crunchers having picked the same name...

WUs downloaded with no passkey or an invalid entry will not earn QRB even if the passkey was updated before the WU finished and was uploaded. The same if username or team entries change between download and upload of a completed WU. As for the bonus page and passkeys, it and the entire stats system only works with verified passkeys. That filter was added years ago due to problems with user created passkeys.
