Where are the Big WUs ?

Post by Mactin »

About two weeks ago BIG Wus all but disapeered.
I have not had one sinse Jan.11
All the nice 24xx 500 pointers and even nicer 26xx projects all even gone from the Project Summary page.
Is it just me ? or is it the same for all ?

I noticed it too. But I wouldn't worry. This to will change. :D I think this is happening to everybody. (At least to us single folders!) The big points are in the SMP's.

We are all in the same boat! All WUs need to be crunched. Pande Group determines which WUs are most important to run for science.

How could it be "just me"? We all see the same Project Summary page.

Projects start, make progress, and finish without any discussion -- and without considering the points. As long as there is work to be done, you should be doing it.

The 500-pointers are NOT the "golden fleece" -- those would be the Double Gromacs WUs! They may only be worth 316 points, but they run FAST -- 800+ PPD on my Opteron 246! :)

I'm not sure Seattle natives know how to react to that irritatingly bright thing we have a lot of the time in Texas. I've been around a few...

I've got a 1500 pointer on my PS3.

Unfortunately, the PS3 gets a constant 900 PPD -- no such thing as a bonus I know of.

Maybe too many people cashed in their points at once, so Pande Group cut back on Bonus points for non-SMP WUs until more people donate money and get 'em back in the black.

Did you work that out with frame times from the log, or was it what fahmon said?
Granted these were best PPD non-smp wu's I've ever seen, better even than the QMD's, but I could only get 600ppd per core on a fast dual core.
In case you weren't aware, fahmon wasn't reporting these WU's correctly until the most recent update from Uncle_Fungus.
