Request: Mac OS X GPU Client

Post by macfan777 »

This would be a great way to further increase performance on the (already) superior OS X folding client. Does anyone have any idea if/when this will be available? The current GPU client should be able to support graphics cards like the ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO found in the iMacs already, so it shouldn't be much of a problem porting it to OS X.

Sorry, but the word is that the GPU client may be one of the few things that has no place on Mac OS X. Even the Linux may get it way before Mac OS X. Issue is with driver and supporting libraries. Someone should get the Brook, Brook+ and CTM supported on Mac OS X before anything can happen.

Correct. Consider this a "probably never" for now at least.
