kakaostats - What happened to them?

Post by ElectricVehicle »

Did I miss something? Am I sleeping under a rock?

What happened to Kakaostats? http://kakaostats.com/tr.php?t=1

This was one of my favorite stat sites, because the team radar was ranked by when teams crossed - passed or being passed and it use to have your rank at the time of that crossing. That was very useful to motivate me to continue improving folding performance (and all that that entails...).

It was a bummer when the rank at crossing another team was removed. Now it's an even bigger bummer because ALL the stats pages are missing and the main site http://kakaostats.com/ which used to be the teams list appears to be a copy of the FAH Wiki.

Anyone know what happened?

Overly obsessed FAH stats watchers want to know!

Confirmed on my computer as well. Darn our Team URL links to our kakaostats page! :(
I'm sure it will be up soon. It hasn't been a super reliable site, numerous times I've seen it down or acting really weird, and then in the next couple of days they're up and running again.
Hmm. Maybe they got hacked or something. That is super weird that the main page goes to the F@h wiki.

I'd bet that they'll be back, although I'll search for some announcement.

Cool, thanks! I didn't see any news about it going away, but I was concerned it might since they were recently talking about server load, reducing the load and they removed the rank you'll at when you corss the other team, which was just REALLY COOL, that isn't available anywhere else.... or anywhere now that Kakaostats dropped it.

Anyway, I'll stay tuned and maybe it will be back up Monday or Tuesday.

Kakao Stats may not disappear. :?:

It is the main source for cohesion of a team.

They are the best statistics for the team and its members.
Sorry for the translation. This aspect, obliges me to very short and concrete sentences. Little by little he will go forward, also in this field.

Well it's just so clean! Everything is right where it ought to be without any silly distractions or advanced tech-speak.
I certainly agree that kakaostats is the best, but others prefer sites like folding.extremeoverclocking.com

I know that Kakao is tuning the FAH Wiki to prevent spam bots, he may have misconfigured his server in this process causing the disappearance of Kakaostats (they run on the same server). I've sent him a PM referring to this topic.

Than you all for your support. Smoking got it right. While I was hacking the wiki to make it harder for bots to register, I made an Apache configuration mistake and didn't check if the other sites were still working.

Cool! It's back...

Be nice if you can bring back the team rank at corssing with another team. I presume it was removed because of the server load it created. you might make it on demand only, something where a page refresh wouldn't recalculate it. Or maybe calculate it the first time and then leave it cached for 24 hours... Whatever works. It was cool and kakaostats was the only site that had the team crossings in chronolgical order with the rank at crossing! Great feature, none of the other sites show that kind of easy insight into where your team is going.

And thanks for coming back online!

I love Kakaosats! I just wish it could have (but understand why it doesn't) a longer detailed user history :)

Agreed. I'm sure there's already quite a bit of hard drive space consumed by 50 days worth of history over 1,583,423 users.

For many KakaoStats is the best. Without their statistics, my team focus is lost.

I intend to help, visiting their trade links. :e)
