Why isnt my team/user updating

Post by KevinC »

I Downloaded folding@home on my computer and server, i'd say about 2-3 days ago. The server has done around 8000+ WU and my comp around 500 WU. My team and user profile has yet to update. Nothing is being blocked and the computer and server are on 2 different networks.

Here's my team ID: 215738
Here's my user profile which wont generate for some reason: Kevin_Cope
I would post a link but i'm not allowed
Is there something wrong with a server, or what?

If you need any additional information, let me know

I am so sorry. It looks like you may have started folding at an inopportune time as Pande Group is working on fixing a glitch in the stats system, which may (or may not) be a part of your problem.

See this topic ---> viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20768

And, BTW, welcome to Folding@Home and the Folding@Home Support Site. :)

Just to make sure we understand what you are saying, would you please post a copy/paste of FAHlog.txt (in your FAH folder) for each of the server and the computer. Use the code tags if you know how that works. If not, I'll insert them in the post for you.

If that's the problem, do you think the WU I did will count? or be lost. I could care less I just want to get it working

I see. That log shows you working on a WU, but you haven't completed it and sent it back to Stanford yet. When you finish it, you should be able to see (in the log) it finish, upload and then you'll get a thank you. It should then show up in your stats after the next update (happens shortly after the hour when all things are working correctly).

I'll put a copy of a log file of mine here to show you what this looks like. Wait a bit ...

This is what the log looks like when you download a WU, complete all 100 frames, send it back and receive the thank you message. You just need to keep the client running and let it do its thing. It will complete, send the results back, then connect to the assignment server, be assigned to a work server, download a new WU and start the process again.

No, that isn't the problem. I was just guessing until I saw your log. I did suspect you had just not completed the WU yet, but I needed to see the log to be sure. You appear to be doing just fine. :)

Don't feel bad about that. The logs are confusing for tons of folders when they start out. And then there are those like me, folding since December 2001, who still don't totally understand them. Just ask, like you did, when something doesn't seem right. We'll all try to help figure it out. :)
