I'm not sure if the 8400 GS is useful at this point in time because it is older and, as I understand it, a limited/potentially no range of Work Units available for it.
if there are any work units still available, could this please be whitelisted?

It probably won't be whitelisted again. Work for this and other older GPU's from nVidia ran out in August when the last server with Core_11 projects went down and could not be recovered. An announcement that newer projects would not be developed was posted on the blog in September as I recall. Newer work cores require features not present in the pre-Fermi architecture cards.

As Joe_H noted, the last of the Core_11 work units ran out months ago, and so this class of GPUs (pre-Fermi G8x - G9x, and 2xx, 3xx) that could only fold these work units was recently blacklisted, aka, set as unsupported, after months of sitting idle, or displaying a No Work found message.

More notably, in an effort to extend the lives of this class of GPUs, an attempt is being made to get some existing (back shelf) Core_15 beta projects released to a public status so these would be available to the pre-Fermi GPUs that supported CUDA compute level 1.1.

Unfortunately, not all GPUs in this class G8x-G9x or 2xx, 3xx support a CUDA compute level 1.1. And sorting out the hundreds of models with and without that support is a time consuming task. If a GPU without that support were whitelisted again after these work units become available, the client would have repeated memory errors when trying to run these work units, potentially dumping multiple work units before the error was discovered.

Some of these GPUs have already been whitelisted again, including the 8400 GS in the OP. More will return to the whitelist in the next few days. However, WU availability will be low. And until these projects are moved out of beta status, there is only one way to get them. Also note that these Core_15 projects require NV drivers 2xx.xx or higher.

I do not know how successful this effort will be, but I am glad to see the attempt. If it doesn't work out, those GPUs will eventually be blacklisted again. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
