Releasing new SMP A4 (GRO_A4) projects p8631-8634 to ADVANCED.

These projects simulate PrgW, a replication initiation protein from the bacteria Enterococcus faecalis. Experimental studies and homology modeling studies suggest that PrgW has a binding interaction with a pheromone peptide, eventually leading to conjugative plasmid transfer (i.e. sharing of DNA between bacteria that helps them resist antibiotics). These simulations are designed to test this potential binding interaction.

This project is a collaboration with Bettina Buttaro, Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Temple University School of Medicine.
