That is what I get. I tried a reinstall to no avail.

You are running some kind of firewall software (good!) and you must adjust it. The FAHClient software operates pretty much like a browser but it's not on the list of default browsers that are permitted to download files from the internet. In your firewall software, you need to grant an exception to allow FAHClient.exe to use the internet.

There's some kind of permission issues in the Data folder of FAHClient. Do you start it with the shortcut created by installer ? Where did you choose to install the client and its data files ?

Is there something specific with this system (company policies, shared computer, ...) ?

No shared system. Is personal computer. In terms of how did I launch, I go in the folder it was installed to on my :C drive I open the 2 F@H applications. One is a CMD window and the other is the client. I have had issues just opening the client and it constantly saying connecting. Which isn't an issue with the CMD window open as well. I will look in to the firewall thing when I get home

When the client is launched correctly, you won't see any CMD window, just a tray icon ...

Are you starting FAH automatically or are you using the FAHClient shortcut that was installed? If you've created your own shortcut or you are clicking on FAHClient.exe to start it, you're not opening the application properly.

If I start via the icon put on my desktop by installing it, it just constantly says connecting and doesn't do anything. I checked my firewall settings as well. Fahclient is allowed through.

When you installed, were you logged on as the same user that's attempting to run FAH?

Yeah, only one user on the computer.

Okay, so after doing nothing. it now works again, but this is more of a question. i currently am only using gpu folding. why am i only using 3-12% of my total gpu resources at any given time? my current ppd is around 200k. im using a GTX 1050TI and my folding power is set to full. maybe this is normal, im not sure. id just assume that i would use more resources than i currently am

I suspect whatever measuring tool you are using.

I use GPU-Z and my GTX 1050 shows near 95% to get 136k PPD

If JimboPalmer's guess is correct, the measuring tool you're using is indicating that FAHCore_21 is using 3-12% of my total CPU resources to manage data for the GPU. The actual FAH processing has been successfully off-loaded from the CPU to the GPU.

Windows 10 Process Manager doesn't really show the actual GPU load — screenshot.

You need to change the view of the process manager. Click on one of the arrows to the left of any of the 4 boxes say video encode. The arrow opens the dropdown menu select either compute 0 or 1 . On my AMD card the FAH process shows up under compute 1. Works for both Win 10 and 11.

As we say in Russia: "Live a century, learn a century" / “Live forever, learn forever.” I didn’t know that the process manager is so customizable, and the following fields are available to display video card activities:
  1. 3D
  2. Copy
  3. Video Encode
  4. Video Decode
  5. Compute_0
  6. Legacy Overlay
  7. Copy 1
  8. Copy 2
  9. Security
  10. Video Processing
  11. Graphics_1
  12. Cuda
  13. Compute_1
  14. VR
  15. Copy 3
  16. Copy 4
  17. Copy 5
Thank you!
