Logging into FAHControl refusal - Linux

Post by OrsPervIe »

I am unable to log into FAHControl.
foldingathome - 7.6.21-1
fahcontrol-gtk3-git - r185.2b57930-1
Linux Kernal linux60 - 6.0.2-2
Linux OS is Manjaro unstable.
foldingathome works fine and can use the browser page. FAHContol though does not except my password. Believe it should be my sudo password.
Error: On client: "xxxx" localhost: 36330: Access denied, invalid password.

FAHControl and FAHClient use the password you set in its configuration if your are attempting to access remotely. Not your sudo password.

I just installed foldingathome and fahcontrol-gtk3-git and then used the web page to setup using name key and what I wanted to fold. I did not do any other setup.
foldingathome config.xml is in root, foldingathome can only be started and stopped using root.

If no password has been set up in /etc/fahclient/config.xml, it should allow connection without authentication. Does your config.xml have a line like this?

Code: Select all

<password v='MyFAHPassword1'/>
You can also try setting up a known password like with remote clients:
