First Job, complete time way off

So the CPU is only @ 1.01% and the GPU is almost 70% but it went from 2.99 days complete to like 26 days. WTH? Also the cpu is 8 core so how is that only at 1%? Plus the points went way way down for the job since i started

The picture shows you have two separate things mixed up. The progress bar is for the WU being processed on your GPU. The rest of the information in that picture is for a WU from Project 16998 which is a CPU project and may be at a totally different stage of progress or just started.

Information tat would be useful is from your log file. The Welcome topic includes posts on how to locate and post your log file - viewtopic.php?t=26036. Links are there for doing so from Windows, Linux and macOS. The first 100 lines showing your hardware and software cofiguration of the client plus enough to show a few percent of progress on each WU is enough. The whole log is not required.

I split the log into two different posts I think where I may have messed up is I originally selected high priority and then stopped the folding changed it to any disease and started the folding again and I wonder if that messed the jobs up

The GPU WU for Project 18448 is processing at a reasonable rate. Since this will be your first WUs returned they will not get the bonus. However the client bases its points estimates on the presence of a passkey and does not query the servers to see if the passkey has been qualified for the bonus which requires returning 10 WUs first.

The WU from Project 16998 that is being processed on your CPU may not finish within the deadline. Your FX-8350 while supporting AVX is an older processor that may not be up to some o the larger projects. As a Piledriver architecture processor it has 8 cores that share 4 FPUs so it may not run efficiently on F@h WUs at thread counts over 4. My recommendation would be to use the advanced control - FAHControl - to set the thread count to 4 instead of the default that uses the slider to set that.

Okay I'm in the control can you explain how I would change the thread count to four

Click on Configure, then select the tab for Slots. Click on the CPU slot to highlight it and then Edit at the bottom right. In the top section of the screen that opens, change the thread count from the default value of -1 to the number of threads to use. In this case I recommended 4 as that is the number of FPUs available.

You may have to watch and see how the CPU slot works. It does have AVX which helps, but at 10 years old its processing speed is lower than recent processors. It is doable, I still use the 10 year old i7-3520m in my laptop on 2 threads and it can complete the assigments I get. You may find that to get WUs the FX-8350 can complete will require reducing the thread count to less than 4.

Yes, the two WUs are independent and unless you change a setting another WU will be downloaded. If you do want it to stop processing on the GPU, you can set the slot to Finish. If you use the Finish button it is for all slots, or you can right click in FAHControl on a slot and a menu will pop up that gives your the option to set just that slot to Finish.

Hard to say if that CPU will be making deadlines with the core counts changed, but the only way to know for sure is to try.

As for your GPU, while it seems to be folding, it's not folding very quickly for what it is. Do you have it on a slow PCI slot by any chance? While I suspect it will still meet the deadlines and such, it seems something is holding it back. Once you start getting your bonus points you will be able to see the true PPD it's running, but based on frame times it's not running at it's full potential.

It's on the fast PCI slot it's a MSI GTX 1660 super 6 gig I have the memory overclocked because some days I use it for crypto mining also

I'm assuming the fast PCI slot is the purple one with the clip as opposed to the normal blue ones

There is no standard for PCI slot colors, so you might want to take a look at the specs for the motherboard. And for folding, overclocking your memory will generally slow throughput. Many users find faster returns by actually underclocking memory. I also have a 1660 Super, and it returns better PPD with the memory underclocked.

But memory alone shouldn't make that much difference, so I'd check those PCI slots out and make sure you've got it on one quick enough. Your frame times with that project are over 3 times what I get, even when I run the card power limited.
