Generally any driver with issues for folding is reported fairly quickly here on the forums or on discord.

NVIDIA hasn't had any major driver issues for folding uses in a while. Even those issues were usually very minor. For the most part it's not a concern with this brand of GPU.

I agree, once I find a stable driver I generally don't update it unless it really needed. Other advice is stay away from any beta versions, no matter what people say and especially if they report it does stuff like double your PPD and yes this has happened the apparent speed up was from skipping steps which corrupted the work. Get the driver from NVIDIA site directly. Good luck.
