Getting fahcore 22 projects - crashing my 1080ti

I run 4 1080tis. Starting having problems, then I noticed Iwas getting fahcore 22 projects. This causes the gpu to basically lose its identity. In nvidia server program the bios info is all gne for any gpu that gets this project and my other gpus get to 99% and will not finish. Why am I gertting fahcore 22 projects, I have not changed any thing. I have to reinstall Linux to get my cards back to normal.

You are getting Core_22 projects because everyone is getting them now. They went to being assigned to all systems folding on GPU's as of Jan. 31 this year - viewtopic.php?f=24&t=32144.

If you are overclocking your 1080ti's, then you may have to reduce or eliminate that overclock. You may also need to update your drivers, Core_22 works better on newer drivers from some reports.

As time drags on, there will be more and more Core_22 and less and less Core_21. Because Core_22 does more science, it may heat up your PC more.

All water cooled. Heat has not exceeded 65c

in fact, when someone reports that a GPU gets to 99% and will not finish, that information is in error. If you check the actual log for that GPU, you'll find an error message at some lesser percentage. The code that estimates the completion percentage has a defect and the percentage being reported keeps increasing even after the GPU has errored out.

Well bruce, we have both asked for logs, all we can do is wait for them.

Removed 3 of 4 folding slots. 1 gpu works fine.
Enabled 2nd slot works fine.
Enabled 3rd slot and recreated same problem.
Evidently, I have a gpu going bad.
Will need to weed out which one and get back to at least 3 gpus folding.
Might be the motherboard is acting up also.

Problem solved. One bad 8 pin connector to 0ne gpu. All 4 gpus back to working well again.
