Re: MacOS GPU

Let this thread stand that there are dozens of us who are interested in MacOS GPU folding.

All right, I'm done with memeing now. Hopefully we'll revisit this once the current fires are put out.

Re: MacOS GPU

Heat dissipation might be a bigger issue with MacBook Pros. Not because the computer will throttle or melt, but because the whole aluminum unibody might get pretty uncomfortable to use if it's folding the whole day. So probably the best target audience would be those with eGPUs, high end iMacs, or M...

Re: problem with gpu slot on MacBook Air

See the pinned announcement post.

Also I hate to be a killjoy, but the MacOS client doesn't support GPU folding for a bunch of reasons, but it still does CPU projects.

Neato. I just got the software up and running again, after nearly a whole decade.

Re: MacOS GPU

I'll raise my hand as a data point. Recent Mac Mini, with a Vega 56 attached through a Sonnet Breakaway Box that is currently switched off. I would love to contribute my GPU to the COVID-19 frontline. As I understand it, there have been a lot of technical limitations preventing Mac GPU support histo...

I'm interested in knowing how FAH SMP might benefit from this, especially for Windows SMP since this is coming from Microsoft.

Remove the -smp flag and use the -oneunit flag to finish the current uniprocessor WU. Then add the -smp flag.

Re: Multiple Instances

That's a good setup, just don't run any of the console's as service as it can get messy running service and gui clients at the same time. If you want to run everything out of sight then replacing the one systray client with another console would allow to install them as service. Since the GUI clien...

Re: List of SMP WUs with the "1 core usage" issue

Seems like I was lucky. I picked up my first bad WU, 2671 (Run 37, Clone 79, Gen 78) and I happened to receive the new 2.10 core. Core immediately errored on a status FF a couple of times to get a good WU. The strange thing I've noticed is that the new core bumped my CPU usage higher.

Re: Dled and installed... now what?
